Wisdom Mutasa, son to Dynamos Football Club coach, Loyd Mutasa, seem to have won the heart of his father’s cross town rival, Loyd Chitembwe after he impressed during training with Caps United Football Club last week..
Wisdom, who is a free agent after his contract with Tanzanian side, Singida, was terminated at the beginning of this year has been club hunting while training with Dembare’s fierce Harare rivals, Makepekepe but Chitembwe is not easily getting carried away, warning that the youngster has to prove his mettle if he is to entertain hopes of donning the green and white jersey.
In a interview with 263Chat Chitembwe said Mutasa needs to work hard to earn his place in the Makepekepe team.
“Every player has to work so that he finds himself a position in the team and we are giving a lot of other players an opportunity to prove themselves that they are worth to be at Caps United” said Chitembwe
“Wisdom is a good young man who is working for a positions because these positions are given on merit .If he wants to be part of the team he needs to work hard for his position and for now he has been working hard.
“I am liking his work rate and if he continues to do what he is doing he will find his position in the team,” Chitembwe said.
Wisdom once played for his father’s team, Dynamos , before leaving for Tanzania, where he failed to impress, before deciding to come back home.
If a move to Makepekepe materializes, it is likely to ignite the Harare derby later in the season, which is one of the much anticipated fixtures on the Premier Soccer League calendar.
Meanwhile, Chitembwe says his goal is to build a team that will challenge for title honors this coming season.
“The players who we wanted to be here are here both in quality and numbers, we are now good to go” said Chitembwe
Caps United , who finished fifth last season, will be buoyed by the availability of players like Dominic Mukandi, Steven Makatuka, Oscar Machapa and Valentine Musarurwa.
